About Us
V&M Locker was founded in 1973 by Verlyn & Barb Ruiter. Verlyn had many partners over the years, but most notably was Marv Van't Hof in the 80's when they added on to the aging cooler and expanded the cutting room. With all the big changes they also changed the name to V&M Locker. Marv sold out to Bill Sandbulte, and eventually Bill sold out to Verlyn's son, Chad in 2004. During their years together they made many improvements to the building and the business really took off. In 2016, V&M was nominated for the Best of MN Hot Dog Contest on WCCO-TV, and they won! Hot Dog sales soared and it was soon clear that another big change to the building was needed to increase hotdog and sausage production. In 2019, Verlyn sold out his share of the business to Chad and his wife, Julie. Chad and Julie decided to demolish the old worn-out grocery store to build a new retail meat market and sausage kitchen, while also expanding the cutting room, which opened in November 2019. Currently, they employ approximately 34 people. Verlyn and Barb still help out boxing meat, getting cutting orders and making calls. Marv also gets the mail from the post office for V&M too! Come on over and see what great service and products we have to offer!
